Louise Owen

Louise has been passionate about horses since she was a child.  She went on to own and train dressage horses before turning her focus to racehorses.  Louise and her husband Michael (Premiership footballer and England International striker) own Manor House Stables in Cheshire which they converted from a cattle barn to a training yard in 2007.  They work hard to ensure horses they’ve raced go on to have a good home for life.  


Charles Lawson

Charlie is celebrating 34 years in the business having appeared in all the established theatre companies, several films and numerous TV series including 10 years in Coronation Street.  These days Charlie prefers a life out of the limelight running a farm shop in Prestbury, Cheshire, with his partner Debbie. 

Charlie is a huge racing fan who rides out regularly and is dedicated to the charity work with the TRC.

Sir Peter O'Sullevan

Sir Peter O'Sullevan is a retired BBC horesracing commentator (1947 - 1997) and racing correspondent for the Press Association, Daily Express and Today.  During his career he was known as the "voice of racing" and was knighted in 1997.

He is a successful racehorse owner, including Be Friendly who won the King's Stand Stakes at Ascot, Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp and ten further races.  He was champion European sprinter in 1968. Sir Peter's home-bred won the Triumph Hurdle, Chester Cup and Northumberland Plate in 1974.

Sir Peter is actively involved in fundraising for causes offering protection to horses.  He was instrumental in the early set up of the TRC and continues to offer much valued support through the Peter O'Sullevan Charitable Trust.

The Right Honourable The Marquess of Zetland

Lord Zetland's family has owned and farmed land in North Yorkshire and Cleveland for almost 250 years.  He comes from a long line of prominent racehorse owners and was elected to the Jockey Club in December 1982.

Lord Zetland's career during the past thirty years has been a deep involvement in the administration of horseracing in the UK.  He has been Managing Director and Chairman at Redcar Racecourse, Director at Catterick and Doncaster racecourses, a Director of International Racecourse Management Limited, Chairman of the Thoroughbred Breeders Association of Great Britain, a Steward of the Jockey Club and Founding Director of the British Horseracing Board.
