Why leave a gift in your will to the TRC?
The TRC relys heavily on gifts in wills to continue our work helping ex-racehorses. It was through money left to us in legacies that we were able to purchase our premises at Whinney Hill.
Including a gift in your will for the TRC is a wonderful way of giving something back to help our cause. Your gift will help to improve the lives of many horses in the future.
Why do I need a will?
Every adult should have an up-to-date will to ensure their possessions and assets are passed onto the people and causes they really care about.
Without a will, your wishes may not happen and your belongings could even end up in the hands of the government. The only way to ensure your wishes are fulfilled is to make a will.
How do I leave a gift in my will to the TRC?
You can leave a legacy to the TRC as either a specific or residuary legacy. Legacies to charities are free from both Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax so they can reduce the total liability on your estate.
Inclusion of the TRC as a beneficiary in your will can either be by means of making a new will or by adding a codicil and we urge you to take professional advice from your solicitor on this.
If you decide to leave a gift to the TRC in your will, or have already done so, it would be most helpful to us to have an indication of your support to enable us to plan ahead for the future.
